Suranjit invites Tarique to come, face court

Minister without portfolio Suranjit Sengupta on Monday urged BNP
vice-chairman Tarique Rahman to get back home to face court.“There’s no need for Interpol intervention. Return to the country by making
an announcement. The problem will be solved if you surrender before the
court. The legal problem has to be solved legally,” he said.
Suranjit said this while addressing a discussion organised by Deshratna
Parishad at Diploma Engineers’ Institute in the city. “Tarique Rahman is
not a constitutional problem ….it’s his personal problem.”
“If he doesn’t want to come back, he can stay there. But you (BNP) can’t
make a non-issue an issue. In fact, Tarique Rahman in not an issue… the
main problem is the corruption of Hawa Bhaban.”
Suranjit went on: “In democratic politics, the people of the country don’t
want to see any more Hawa Bhaban. People couldn’t yet to forget the
conspiracy to foil the country’s democracy.”
He urged the opposition to join parliament and place their proposals. “If
the Election Commission is strong, then it is no matter who is heading the
election-time government as all power will be under Election Commission’s
grip.”
Suranjit said it is possible to hold free and fair polls through national
dialogue. (Source: UNB)
