Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain on Monday said Thailand is eager to recruit 50,000 Bangladeshi fishermen.The overseas employment minister came up with the revelation in response to a query from lawmaker Nasimul Alam Chowdhury in the parliament.
He said, “Thai cabinet has accepted a proposal in this regard and our foreign ministry has already sent a draft of the Memorandum of Understanding to Thailand.”
“Bangladesh Embassy in Thailand is working to finalise the MoU,” he said.
In response to another query from lawmaker Sadhona Halder, he said, “Some six families of the 13 Bahrain fire victims were given Tk 2 lakh and the seven rest families will be given after court procedure.
