Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested two members of an
outlawed party along with firearm, bullets and bombs at Ghorashal
village in Sadar upazila on Tuesdaynight.
The arrestees were identified as Hasanuzzaman, 34, son of Rustom Ali,
and Chand Ali Mondol, 40, son of Hossain Ali Mondol, both residents of
the same village.
Captain M Ashraf Ali, assistant commander of Jhenidah Rab-6, said
acting on secret information, a team of Rab-6 conducted a drive at the
village and arrested Hasanuzaaman and Chand Ali, members of banned
extremist outfit Gana Mukti Fauz from the house of Hasanuzzaman while
their other associates managed to flee.
Rab recovered a shutter gun, two rounds of bullet and two bombs from
their possession.
Later, both the arrestees were handed over to Sadar police station
with the recovered firearm and ammunition.
Rab sources said there was a case filed against both the arrestees
with Sadar police station in 2007 for kidnapping and killing on
Mohiuddin.
