Two suspected Bd drug traders killed in Cox’s Bazar gunfight

Cox’s Bazar, Nov 20 – Two suspected drug traders were killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in Keruntoli area of Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar district early Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Jahangir Kudrat, 32, son of Md Abdul Hakim, hailing from Mymensingh district and Md Arif Hossain, 30, son of Abdul Barek, hailing from Munshiganj.
A team of Rab signalled a Cox’s-Bazar bound truck to stop at a check post on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf road, the criminals from inside the vehicle opened fire on them, said Lieutenant Mirza Shahed of Rab-7 Teknaf office.
For self-defence, the Rab force members retaliated that triggered the gunfight.
After the gunfight, the Rab members recovered two bodies from the truck and one lakh pieces of Yaba tablet, two locally made arms and eight round bullets. – UNB
