Savar – Robbers looted valuables including cash and gold ornaments from a house at Tenguri in Ashulia in Savar upazila on
the outskirts of the capital early Thursday.Mohsinul Kadir, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station, said 10-12 robbers swooped on the house of former army personnel Shawkat Hossain , in the area in the dead of night.Later, the robbers looted Tk 3 lakh cash and some gold ornaments from the house, keeping the house inmates hostages at gunpoint.The robbers also beat up six of the inmates as they tried to resist them and left the scene with the looted assets.On information, police visited the spot.
