DHAKA: A mobile court sentenced three female activists of Mahila Dal, BNP’s women affiliate, to three months imprisonment for their involvement in hartal violence in city’s Khilgaon area during the 36-hour countrywide hartal on Tuesday.They are Dilara Islam Polly, Nilufa Yasmin Nilu and Mili Jakaria.
Khilgaon police station Sub-Inspector Swapan Kumar told banglanews, “Cops detained them while they were vandalizing vehicles in the name of procession in Khilgaon area around 8am.”
Later, the magistrate of the mobile court awarded three months jail terms to the detainees around 12:30pm.
Opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance is observing the nonstop lockdown demanding restoration of caretaker government and release of their leaders.
