3 of a family among 8 killed in two road crashes

Eight persons including three members of a single family were killed in two road accidents in Faridpur and Thakurgaon on Saturday.
In Faridpur Three members of a family were among four who were killed and 22 others injured as a bus collided head on with a truck in Faridpur town on early Saturday.The deceased were identified as Asaduzzaman Mitu, 32, his wife Reshma Begum, 28, his daughter 5, hailed from Satkhira and bus driver Siraj, 40, hailed from Jessore.
Confirming the accident Sadar Circle ASP Kamruzzaman said, “A bus collided head on with a truck in the area, leaving three dead on the spot and 22 others injured.”
The injured were rushed to Faridpur Medical College Hospital and bus helper is in critical condition, he added. – banglanews24.com
In another accident in Thakurgaon on the day four people were killed and at least 16 others injured on Saturday when a truck crushed on an auto-rickshaw at Sadar Upazila, police said.
The accident occurred around 7:30pm on the Dinajpur-Thakurgaon highway in the Upazila’s Khochabarhi area.
Those who died were all auto-rickshaw passengers, Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station OC Firoz Khan told journlists.
He said the auto-rickshaw was on its way to Khochabarhi Haat when the truck, coming from the opposite direction, rammed into it, killing the four on spot.
The injured were admitted to the Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital, OC Khan said. – bdnews24.com
