ACC team reports on collapsed building, Rana’s wealth

An inquiry team of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday submitted its probe report on graft allegation in construction of the collapsed Rana Plaza and the illegal wealth of its owner Sohel Rana.In the preliminary inquiry report, the team sought permission from the Commission for serving notices to Sohel Rana and his father Abdul Khalek, asking for their wealth statements, ACC sources said.
After permission of the Commission, the notices will be served to Rana and his father, an inquiry officer said.
Earlier, the ACC formed a two-member inquiry team to probe the graft allegation in construction of Rana Plaza and the illegal wealth of Sohel Rana.
The team members are ACC deputy director M Mafidul Islam and its assistant director Mahbubul Alam. ACC director Tahidul Islam is supervising the team.
On April 30, the ACC team visited the ruined building to probe the incident.
After collapse of Rana Plaza, media published a number of reports saying that the building was constructed violating the rules of Rajuk and Rana acquired a huge amount of money illegally. UNB
