Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed on Sunday said the source of black money has to be disclosed to Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). “The source of black money has to be informed to Anti-Corruption Commission. The persons will not be spared even after whitening money,” he said.
The law minister came up with the disclosure while addressing a roundtable meeting on ‘Bangladesh’s progress in implementation on anti-corruption of UN’.
Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) organised the roundtable at the National Press Club at noon.
Barrister Shafique said, “If anyone invests the black money in tax-free sector, there is a provision to punish him as per ACC law though provision has been made to whiten black money for tax purpose.”
With TIB Chairperson Sultana Kamal in the chair, the roundtable was also addressed, among others by Information Commissioner M Faruque and TIB Executive Director Dr Iftekharuzzaman. (Source: banglanews2.com)
