AL will definitely win next elections, says Obaidul Quader

Dhaka Oct 5 – The ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader Friday claimed that his party will definitely win the upcoming general elections scheduled to be held in the year-end.“If we remain united, we will surely secure victory in the upcoming national polls,” he said this while speaking at a mass-contact programme of the party at Gabtoli buses stand area in Dhaka.
As part of the countrywide week-long mass contact programme, the ruling party yesterday held its programmes in the city’s different areas for the fifth consecutive day.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, called upon the party leaders and workers to remain united and suggested party leaders not to criticize their own party leaders for the sake of petty political interest.
The AL general secretary said his party will ensure a single candidate in each seat at any cost in the upcoming parliamentary elections. None (AL leaders) will be tolerated to contest against the party’s electoral symbol Nouka (Boat) in the next polls.
“If any party man wants to contest the next polls as a rebel candidate violating party high-ups decision, will have to face dire consequence. He/she will be removed from the party position instantly,” he added.
Like on other days, the AL general secretary castigated BNP and dubbed it as a ‘fake political party’ as the party what he claimed, is always engaged in spreading falsehood over any issue.
Quader reiterated that the people are in an election mood. They want elections. None will be able to foil the next polls, he added and called upon the people to cast their votes in the next polls scheduled to be held in the yearend.
He also called upon the party leaders and workers to remain cautious when they will distribute party leaflets among the people so that they (people) don’t feel the disturbance.
After concluding his speech, the AL general secretary also distributed party leaflets among the city dwellers. – Staff Reporter
