Opposition BNP has alleged that the arrest warrant issued against Senior Vice-Chairman Tarique Rahman to demean him.
BNP leader Shamsuzzaman Dudu, adviser to the chairperson of the party, came up with the allegation in a press briefing instantly after the court issued arrest warrant against Tarique on Sunday.
He said, “The government is now in a fix due to ongoing movement of opposition and the arrest warrant has been issued to divert the movement in other direction.”
“We will face the arrest warrant legally,” he added.
Earlier in the day, in response to a petition of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) acting Judge of Dhaka-3 Special Court Mozammel Haque issued arrest warrant against Tarique Rahman in a graft case.
It also allowed ACC to take help from Interpol in this connection.
