Bangladesh-Myanmar talks Today

The three-day seventh round of Foreign Office Consultations between Bangladesh and Myanmar will start in Naypyidaw, the new capital of Myanmar, on Thursday.Making a friendly and peaceful relation with neighboring country is the main concern of the talks, says a foreign ministry press release.
Bangladesh Foreign secretary Shahidul Haque and Myanmar deputy foreign Ministry U Thant Kyaw will lead their respective sides in the meeting.
During the talks, two sides are to discuss about regional, global and bilateral issues.
The repatriation of the Myanmar Rohingya refugees and return of the undocumented Myanmar Rohingyas from Bangladesh will also get preference in the agenda.
Various issues, including land-air and river route communications, prevention of human trafficking, illicit drug smuggling and border management system will be given preference in the meeting.
Press release also said Bangladesh team is set to visit Rakhine state Sittwe where Bangladesh delegation is likely to hold meeting with local representatives.
This is the first visit of Bangladeshi delegation to Rakhine state after forming new Myanmar government in 2011.
Shahidul Haque is likely to pay courtesy calls on the Myanmar Foreign and other high officials of Myanmar government.
Bangladesh team will also hold meetings with Union of Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and other civil society representatives in Yangon.
Meanwhile, representatives from Bangladesh prime minister office, home ministry, civil aviation ministry, river transport, natural disaster management and Border Guard Bangladesh are likely to attend the talks. (Source: banglanews24.com)
