CPD to join debate on South-South cooperation

Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), a civil society think tank, will
debate on South-South Cooperation at the first high-level meeting of
the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC)
to be held in Mexico on Tuesday. The Southern Voice on Post-MDG
International Development Goals in association with the CPD and
National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), Delhi will hold
a focus session, titled ‘Locating South-South Cooperation in Emerging
Development Cooperation Architecture’ on the day, said a media release
on Saturday.The core issues to be addressed at the focus session include how important is South-South cooperation in the evolving
context of international development cooperation. The delegates from
the CPD who will join the high-level meeting are Chair of Southern
Voice on Post-MDGs and CPD distinguished fellow Dr Debapriya
Bhattacharya, CPD Executive Director Prof Mustafizur Rahman and CPD
research director Dr Fahmida Khatun. – UNB
