MP Roni granted bail

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Sunday granted bail to Awami League MP Golam Maola Roni in a case filed on charge of attempt to murder. Metropolitan Magistrate Rezaul Karim granted the bail upon a bond of TK 5,000 when Roni sought bail after surrendering before the court Sunday.
On Saturday, authorities of  The Independent Television filed case against MP Roni and 20/25 other unknown persons for their alleged involvement in physically assaulting two journalists of the TV channel. Roni and others were accused of attempt to murder, vandalism and arson.
On Saturday night, Awami League lawmaker Roni filed a case against Salman F Rahman, owner of the Independent Television, and two others.
Roni filed the case with Shahbagh Police Station on  charge of claiming extortion from him and threatening to kill him.
Other two accused persons are Imtiaz Momin and Mohsin Mukul.
