Pak High Commissioner meets President

President Abdul Hamid on Monday laid emphasis on exchanging visits between lawmakers of Bangladesh and Pakistan under Bangladesh-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Association.“Exchange of visits between lawmakers of both the countries under the friendship association will improve bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan,” he said while Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Afrasiab Mehdi Hashmi Qureshi paid a call on him at Bangabhaban this afternoon.
The Bangladesh-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Association was formed but no exchange of visit between the lawmakers of the two countries yet to take place.
The President expressed his satisfaction over the existing bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
President Abdul Hamid lauded Pakistan’s efforts in holding its general election in a peaceful environment.
The President said there is still ample of opportunities between the two countries to explore new avenues of cooperation.
The Pakistan High Commissioner expressed deep shock on behalf of his government and the people of Pakistan at huge losses of lives in the tragic building collapse in Savar.
He apprised the President that the trade volume between Bangladesh and Pakistan has been increasing day by day as presently it has reached at 740 million US dollar annually.
