Rapid Action Battalion on Saturday detained the wife of Maruf Reza Sagor, believed to be a close associate of slain Juba League leader Reazul Haque Milki, in Dhaka.RAB’s intelligence chief Lt Col Ziaul Ahsan said they nabbed Fahima Islam Lopa from a house in Dhanmondi to interrogate her in the Milki murder case.
Milki’s mother Jahanara Ershad informed journalists Milki had left his house with Sagor hours before being killed. Sagor is on the run since then.
The RAB official said they were hopeful of securing useful leads from his wife.
Milki, an Organising Secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan (south) unit, was shot in the head in the early hours of Tuesday in front of a Gulshan shopping centre. He died later.
A closed-circuit camera in the shopping mall picked up the entire incident.
RAB identified Tarek, another Organising Secretary of the Awami League’s youth front, as the killer from the video footage and arrested him within hours of the killing.
Later, Tarek was killed in a ‘gun-battle’ between the RAB and the ‘attackers who came to snatch away Tarek’. – bdnews24.com
