Sarbahara activist get 17 years in prison

A  court in Barisal Wednesday sentenced one outlawed  Sarbahara
activists to 17 years regours imprisonment in two separate sections of
arms act for possessing illegal arms and ammunition.
Habibur Rahman, judge of special judge court, handed down this verdict
in presence of the lone accused Al Amin Howadar Dalim, after examining
15 witnesses and other evidences .
The prosecution story in brief was police arrested Dalim after raiding
his house at Sakokati under Gournadi upazila on basis of tip-off and
chasing him on July 24, 2011.
According the confession of the arrestee police recovered 2 shotguns,
46 round ammunition, 3 sharp weapons and for power torches from his
possession.
After lodging case with Gournadi police station, investigation officer
Sub Inspector Matiar submitted charge sheet against the lone accused
Dalim on August 15, 2011.
