Dhaka, Jan 09 – A Dhaka court yesterday asked the investigation officer of journalist couple Sagor Sarowar and Meherun Runi killing case to submit a probe report before it on February 17. Metropolitan Magistrate Debbroto Biswas of the CMM Court of Dhaka passed the order as Rapid Action Battalion failed to submit the probe report on Wednesday.
On February 11 in 2012, Runi, senior reporter of private TV channel ATN Bangla, and her husband Sagar, news editor of another TV station, Maasranga, was murdered. Their only son, Megh, was inside their Pashchim Rajabazar house at the time of the murder.
After an investigation by Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police and the detectives, and Rab started probing the murders on April 18, 2012.
At least eight people including their ‘family friend’ Tanveer Rahman had been arrested in connection with the killings. – Special Correspondent
