Probe report submission of 42 burn victims death on March 3

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Sunday deferred the Submission of the probe report to March 3, 2016 in a case filed against four persons including BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia for the deaths of 42 burn victims during BNP-sponsored shutdown and blockade programme across the country in 2015.Magistrate Maruf Hossain of the CMM Court passed the order. Other three accused persons are BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, BNP Chairperson’s former adviser Shamsher Mobin Chowdhuty and former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, Professor Emajuddin Ahmad.

Bangladesh Jananetri Parishad President AB Siddique filed the case with Dhaka CMM Court, and the court had directed Gulshan Police Station to submit a probe report after investigation.

According to the case statement, BNP Chief announced a nationwide blockade programme from her Gulshan Office in the city on January 5, last year, that followed shutdown. A total of 42 people were burnt to death and government properties worth
Crores of Taka was damaged till February 1, since the announcement of the programme.
