The lawyers conducting the money launder case against BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman and businessman Giasuddin Al Mamun informed no-confidence against Dhaka’s Senior Judge Court-3 on Sunday.
Judge Md Motahar Hossain, the incumbent judge of the court was presiding over the court Sunday.
Barrister Fakhrul Islam and Advocate Masud Ahmed Taluker informed the no-confidence as they are convinced that they will not get fail play from this Court and they want to go to the High Court Division for justice, which their clients deserve.
Later the court fixed September 22 for submission of the relevant order from the High Court.
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case with Dhaka Cantonment Police Station against the duo on October 26, 2009, accusing Tarique and Mamun of “siphoning off Tk 204.1 million to Singapore” between 2003 and 2007. – Court Correspondent
