A mobile court here in a drive on Tuesday sentenced two fake homeopathic doctors to
two months’ imprisonment each.
The convicts were identified as Amzad Hossain and Shahidul Islam, both hailing from
Ambaria village in Khoksha upazila of Kushtia district.
Sources said Amzad and Shahidul had long been giving treatment to the people of
the area at a shop at Puratan bus stand in the district town, impersonating registered
homeopathic doctors.
On the day, a mobile court, led by Rajbari sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer AHM Mahfuzur
Rahman, also an executive magistrate, conducted a drive at the shop at noon and wanted
to see their homoeopathy certificates.
As the two could not show any papers in support of their homeopathy degrees, the court
handed down the verdict giving them the jail term. -UNB, Rajbari
